From February 20th to March 4th, 2025, D.A.V. College hosted an enriching 10-day workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis with a specific focus on SPSS and PLS-SEM using Smart PLS 4.0. The workshop was specially designed for BBA 6th Semester and BBS 4th Year students, giving them a unique opportunity to enhance their data analysis skills. This workshop aimed to empower students with the essential tools and techniques for accurate data analysis, enabling them to build a strong foundation in research methodology. The workshop provided an in-depth understanding of data analysis concepts and applications, ensuring students had the skills to conduct rigorous and reliable research. Through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, participants developed their understanding of statistical tools, data models, and analysis strategies to enhance their research practices.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Dr. Gangaram Biswakarma, former deputy director of SOMTU and assistant professor at Tribhuvan University, as our esteemed facilitator. Dr. Biswakarma’s vast experience and expertise in research methodology provided students with invaluable insights and practical guidance throughout the workshop. His hands-on approach and engaging teaching style made the training insightful and engaging.

During the training, students were allowed to work on real-world data obtained through questionnaires and other resources. This practical experience allowed them to apply the theory learned and gain experiential insights into working with data. Participants were guided through using SPSS for fundamental statistical analysis and Smart PLS 4.0 for Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). They learned to apply these tools for modeling relationships and interpreting data patterns. The workshop was structured to be highly interactive, allowing students to work on real-life case studies and research scenarios. This approach ensured that students understood the application of these tools in actual research work.

We thank Dr. Gangaram Biswakarma for dedicating his valuable time and effort to facilitate this workshop. His contribution made this training highly beneficial, and we are grateful for his commitment to helping students develop their skills and understanding of data analysis in research. Thank you to all the students who participated and made this workshop a success. We look forward to seeing how these newly acquired skills will enhance your future research endeavors!
