D.A.V. College believes in the power and authenticity of practical learning, going beyond the traditional textbooks to prepare our students for the real world. Since its inception, the college has continuously strived to create a fun educational learning environment where students acquire theoretical knowledge and develop empirical skills that help them succeed in their careers and personal lives. Thus, one of the basic foundations of this approach is the Socio-Educational Tour, an experiential learning initiative designed to immerse students in real-world settings. D.A.V. College actively conducted a Socio-Educational Tour to Pokhara, Kalabang, for BBA 5th Semester 20th Batch students from 10th to 13th January 2025.

The primary aim of this trip was to give students a deeper understanding of the lifestyle of the vibrant local community in Kalabang village. The students were indulged in a live project where they formed a group, interacted directly with the community, and conducted in-depth interview sessions. These discussions focused on various aspects of the local’s daily life, from economic activities and cultural practices to social structures and environmental challenges. This hands-on learning experience helped students to connect theory with reality, providing valuable insights into rural life in Nepal.

Likewise, during this trip, the students had the golden opportunity to experience village life firsthand through a unique homestay program. Each group of students was assigned to different households and enjoyed fresh organic food along with the authentic ambiance of village life. The villager's simple yet rich lifestyle often exposes the students to the importance of community, sustainability, and the interconnectedness of nature and human life. From the early morning hike witnessing the beautiful sunrise to the imprint of how village life sustains these moments, they have left an everlasting impression on the students, building a sense of respect, empathy, and appreciation for the culture and values of the village people. Whether exploring the picturesque beauty of Pokhara, sharing stories with villagers, or engaging in group discussions back at the homestay, the experience promises to blend education, culture, and fun. Finally, students gained insights into the village’s way of life and developed critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills that will enhance their personal and professional growth.
