D.A.V. College organized a memorable Socio-Educational Tour to the scenic and culturally rich destinations of Pokhara and Kalabang from March 20th to 23rd, 2025. The trip aimed to provide BBM 1st Semester and BBS 1st Year students with a hands-on learning experience outside the classroom, exposing them to rural life and community living through immersive homestays. One of the highlights of this tour was the students' opportunity to live locally in the Kalabang community through homestays. This unique experience allowed them to embrace and understand the local villagers' lifestyles, customs, and traditions. Students had the chance to experience organic village food, interact with the locals, and immerse themselves in the culture and ambiance of the rural setting.

As part of the tour’s educational objectives, students were divided into groups to conduct surveys and interviews with local community members. They gathered valuable insights on various aspects of daily life, challenges, and the motivation behind running homestays. The students visited different communities, including Brahmin, Gurung, and Dalit settlements, gaining diverse perspectives on community living, traditions, and cultural practices. Additionally, the students interacted with local street vendors in Pokhara to learn about their struggles, livelihoods, and daily routines. These insightful conversations allowed students to delve deeper into the region's economic and social fabric.

After the trip, all students gathered for a Chart Paper Presentation, where they shared their findings, insights, and personal experiences in front of esteemed dignitaries and faculty members of D.A.V. College. The presentations were an excellent platform for students to reflect on their learning, highlight key takeaways, and showcase their observations from the trip.

The socio-educational tour to Pokhara and Kalabang was an educational experience and a fun-filled adventure. Students create lifelong memories with their friends and peers while gaining valuable knowledge and life skills to contribute to their academic and personal growth. D.A.V.
