Residential Workshop on DevOps 2025 - BCA 8th Semester
Published on 2025-07-15

D.A.V. College has successfully organized a Residential DevOps Workshop for the 8th Semester BCA students, held over 2 nights and 3 days from July 02 – July 04, 2025 at the scenic Trishuli Villa Resort, Malinga, Malekhu Dhading. This transformative workshop aimed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world IT practices by immersing students in the evolving world of DevOps—Development and Operations—a key enabler of modern software engineering and continuous delivery.
Throughout the workshop, students delved into practical and theoretical components of CI/CD pipelines (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization using Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes, and version control via Git and GitHub workflows. Under the mentorship of experienced DevOps engineers and faculty members, participants actively engaged in hands-on lab sessions, collaborative deployment tasks, cloud architecture discussions, and troubleshooting real-time scenarios.
The program was skillfully facilitated with live demonstrations on automated testing, monitoring tools, and cloud-based deployment environments, allowing students to simulate agile workflows and understand the principles of scalability, reliability, and efficiency in system development. The scenic and peaceful atmosphere of Trishuli Villa not only provided a productive learning environment but also served as a place for personal growth, team bonding, and mental rejuvenation.
Beyond the technical rigor, the workshop featured interactive games, group reflections, and networking sessions that enhanced collaboration and strengthened student-faculty relations. This residential format allowed for deeper immersion, uninterrupted focus, and a holistic approach to learning.
D.A.V. College extends heartfelt appreciation to the mentors, department, and students who made this workshop an inspiring and impactful journey. This initiative is a reflection of our continued commitment to fostering industry-relevant skills, cultivating DevOps culture, and preparing our students for dynamic careers in the tech ecosystem.
We look forward to conducting more such high-impact technical residencies in the future, where learning meets experience and innovation begins.
