Best out of Waste competition on the occasion of The World Environment Day, 2023.

The students of D.A.V. college has actively set records of their innovative creativity through a competition with the theme of ‘Best out of Waste’. The program was organized by the enthusiastic members of Social Welfare Club, D.A.V. on the occasion of The World Environment Day, 5th June,2023. The competition was judged by an Environment Activist Ms. Monika Neupane. Ms. Neupane presented a very fruitful insights regarding the types of plastics which are harmful for the environment, the legal policies regarding carrying plastic bags and the effects of plastic usage around the globe over the decades. The session stood out as an inspiring one to ban the use of plastic and start protecting the environment in any way possible.
Additionally, in the competition of making something out of waste, students reused different form of scraps like plastic bottle, egg cartoon, cardboard, mask, chips box, newspaper, chocolate wrappers, dry fruits shells, old magazine, unused wallpaper and many more for making something useful and creative out of it. The students came up and presented their innovative handmade products like flower vase, wall decor, pen/pencil holder, calendar, piggy bank, dustbin, photo frame, etc. on the basis of individual and group category. All these products were very impressive and each product left a mark on the reputation of the whole D.A.V. family.
The winners of group and individual category were honored by trophy and certification of appreciation from the college. All of the products are displayed in the college premises as an act of appreciation for the hard work of the students. We are eagerly looking forward to more of such productive environment day in the near future.
